Mapping the conservation landscape

Article Abstract:

Different approaches are employed by various conservation organizations to conserve biodiversity. A conceptual map of 21 approaches implemented by 13 conservation organizations is provided. It is found that only with explicit understanding can the conservation community and its supporters compare these approaches and come to a consensus.

Tips are given for conservation biologists who want to effectively challenge projects that have a negative impact on nature. Many conservation biologists do not know how to negotiate deals effectively.
