Mark-resight methodology for estimating population densities for prairie dogs

Article Abstract:

The use of mark-resight methodology to estimate black tailed prairie dog population size and density is described. Results concluded that the methods are viable in both urban and rural systems as well as reveals extremely high densities for isolated prairie dogs in urban sites.

The survival and mortality of male mule deer is studied under different hunting regulations in the Bridger Mountains, Montana. The results provide safety parameters for the coexistence of populations in deer management.
