Mediators of vascular remodelling co-opted for sequential steps in lung metastasis

Article Abstract:

Various genetic and pharmacological methods and approaches are used to study and explain lung metastasis, which entails various biological functions that allow cancerous cells from a primary site to overtake distant organs. The analysis reveals and shows that various primary tumorigenic functions can be coupled to greater lung metastatic potential, as such biological activities can be easily targeted therapeutically with specific drug combinations.

Genes that mediate breast cancer metastasis to lung

Article Abstract:

A set of genes that marks and mediates breast cancer metastasis to the lungs is identified. Some of these genes serve dual functions, providing growth advantages both in the primary tumor and in the lung microenvironment while the others contribute to aggressive growth selectively in the lung.

Endogenous human microRNAs that suppress breast cancer metastasis

Article Abstract:

The article discusses various endogenous human microRNAs, the restoration of the expressions of which help in suppressing the breast cancer metastasis in humans. miR-335 and miR-126 are found to be the most effective of such RNAs.
