Molecular gas in the host galaxy of a quasar at redshift at z = 6.42

Article Abstract:

CO emission from the quaser SDSSJ114816.64 + 525150.3 at z=6.42 are reported. The observation of molecular hydrogen provides the fundamental constraints on galaxy evolution.

Type II supernovae as a significant source of interstellar dust

Article Abstract:

Large amounts of dust have recently been discovered in high-redshift quasars and galaxies. Supernova explosions of massive stars are also a potential source with models predicting dust.
