Multiferroic and magnetoelectric materials

Article Abstract:

The latest developments in the multiferroic and magnetoelectric materials in the context of the pioneering works of the 1950s and 1960s are reported. The different issues that focus upon the scientific and technological promise of multiferroic and magnetoelectric materials are highlighted.

Light localized on the lattice

Article Abstract:

Researchers have designed the latticed cage of a specially manipulated material known as a photonic crystal. The analysis has shown that by shaking the mesh of the cage the light's passage is restricted, which was initially passing freely.

Giant magnetoresistance in organic spin-valves

Article Abstract:

A spin valve is a layered structure of magnetic and non-magnetic materials that can be controlled by an external magnetic field. The injection, transport and detection of spin-polarized carriers in a spin valve structure are reported.
