Nobel laureates in bid to revamp science teaching

Article Abstract:

The need to restructure academic standards for the science curriculum in California is being emphasized by Associated Scientists, a group that includes 10 Nobel laureates. The group has offered to undertake this work at no cost. This follows protests that have forced the state commission for academic content and standards to withdraw an offer of a contract for this work made to the Institute for Science Education at California State University in San Bernardino, CA. Associated Scientists is keen to eliminate vague approaches to science teaching that do not challenge pupils.
