Pheromones and regulation of ovulation

Article Abstract:

It is possible to raise doubts about the validity of the coupled-oscillator model of menstrual synchrony derived from rat studies. Questions must also be raised about apparently definitive evidence that pheromones regulate human ovarian function. However, defenders of the coupled-oscillator model derived from rat studies believe that this research suggests that the various types of social regulation of ovulation in rats and humans can be forecast by conceptualizing their interactions as a system of mutually entrained oscillators.

The role of allergy in the development of asthma

Article Abstract:

Allergy is a known major risk factor for asthma, and allergy to airborne antigens has become increasingly common. The development of atopic asthma is traced, from the initial sensitization of naive Th cells against environmental allergens, through to allergen-driven Th2-mediated inflammations in the airways.
