Proffesional secrets

Article Abstract:

The mechanism of antigen-presenting cells (APCs) of immune system triggering cell-killing response in extracellular pathogens is described. The discovery of Sec61 complex, a protein-translocation channel, during endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-phagosome fusion revealed a new cross-presentation pathway in immune system.

Viral blitzkrieg

Article Abstract:

The role of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) in the depletion of CD4(super +) cells is examined. SIV cause AIDS by infecting the master regulatory cells of the immune system- helper cells, better known as CD4(super +) T cells.

Parasitic turncoat

Article Abstract:

Some parasites evade the immune response of their victim by changing their antigenic coat. The mathematical model displaying the prolonged duration of the infection due to the cross-reactive immune responses is presented.
