Reality check

Article Abstract:

Israel's Antiquities Authority has judged that the Jehoash Tablet, believed to confirm biblical accounts of King Solomon's Temple, and a bone burial box inscribed 'James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus' are forgeries. An investigation is conducted to look at the forensic science used to test the authenticity of these artifacts that have had a dramatic impact in the world of archaeology.

Implications of new early Homo fossils from Ileret, east of Lake Turkana, Kenya

Article Abstract:

Two new cranial fossils from the Koobi Fora Formation, east of Lake Turkana in Kenya, are described that have bearing on the relationship between species of early Homo. The new fossils have confirmed the distinctiveness of Homo habilis and Homo erectus and have indicated that these two early taxa are living broadly sympatrically in the same lake basin for almost half a million years.
