Role of SUPERMAN in maintaining Arabidopsis floral whorl boundaries

Article Abstract:

The SUPERMAN (SUP) gene is expressed in the third whorl of developing Arabidopsis flower and creates a boundary between the stamen and carpel whorls. The B function genes are positive regulators of the SUP gene. The SUP gene and AP3/PI act against each other. The SUP protein is required for transcriptional regulation and cellular proliferation. Sequence analysis of the SUP protein detects the presence of one zinc-finger and s region similar to the basic leucine zipper motif.

The CoRNR motif controls the recruitment of corepressors by nuclear hormone receptors

Article Abstract:

N-CoR and SMRT are transcriptional corepressors linking with nuclear hormone receptors (NRs). They are found to contain sequences similar to the NR box and the CoRNR box is needed for NR interaction. CoRNR box peptides are also found to specifically block corepressor interaction in vitro and repression in vivo.
