Science under attack

Article Abstract:

The US scientists' views on the fraught relationship between science and the administration of the American President George W. Bush, was the highlight of the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in February 2006. It was suggested that the Bush administration's approach to science is due to its adherence to a 'unitary executive' philosophy of government and scientists should recognize the threat to the independence of US science.
