Article Abstract:

Northumbria Biologicals Ltd has released the Sequenceboy, a portable DNA sequence recorder. The Sequenceboy is as big as a pocket calculator and is intended to simplify nucleic acid sequence recording and editing. Nucleic acid bases are entered manualy using the keypad or the Reader Mouse keys. Sequences may be accessed and edited anytime and are transferrable to laboratory computers. The Cool Glow DNA sequence detection system

Article Abstract:

Intelligenetics Inc's Betagen Div has introduced Cool Glow, a DNA sequence detection system. Cool Glow is a complete reagent kit for the detection via chemiluminescence of the products of dideoxy termination sequencing methods. It was designed to eliminate the use of radioisotopic labels and works by alkaline phosphatase activation of a chemiluminescent substrate. It is compatible with many current sequencing methods.
