Size bias in visual searches and trapping of brown treesnakes on Guam

Article Abstract:

Visual searches were effective for all brown treesnakes in Guam Island irrespective of their sizes, but while trapping of large size was possible, trapping of smaller and juvenile treesnakes was partially or fully ineffective. Immigration barriers together with trapping can help in reduction of their population.

Response of brown treesnakes to reduction of their rodent prey

Article Abstract:

An experiment involving reduction of rodent prey was conducted to examine the relationship between rodent abundance and trappability of brown treesnakes (BTS). It was found that rodent reduction might enhance detection and capture of BTS.

Evaluation of harmonic direction-finding systems for detecting locomotor activity

Article Abstract:

Harmonic direction-finding systems are used to track small animals, especially invertebrates, and this system helps to avoid disturbing natural movement behavior by letting the observer sense only a change in signal bearing.
