Structural basis for modulation and agonist specificity of HCN pacemaker channels

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-modulated pacemaker channel modulation. The authors have investigated the mechanism of this modulation via the study of carboxy-terminal fragment of hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-modulated channel containing cyclic nucleotide-binding domain and the C-linker region connecting this domain to the pore.

Synapses unplugged

Article Abstract:

The authors discuss the study of neurons. They have investigated the machinery releasing neurotransmitter from one neuron at the junction of the two neurons, and report that this machinery is near calcium channels in the receiving cells and that it aligns with the receiving cell detectors.
