Telescope is no longer dish of the day

Article Abstract:

A review committee has suggested that the Arecibo radio telescope in Puerto Rico should close down if it cannot find outside financial support by 2011. The committee has given its report about many other facilities facing the financial crisis to the Division of Astronomical Sciences of the US National Science Foundation (NSF) on November 3, 2006.

Article Abstract:

Apple along with other US companies is accused of fixing the dates of its stock-options grants retrospectively so that their award date makes a low point in the share price. Apple, the defendant in a lawsuit brought against it by shareholders has already confessed to backdating stock options.

Denmark launches big push for protein power

Article Abstract:

The Novo Nordisk Foundation is funding the construction of a major center dedicated to protein research in Denmark. A high-throughput facility to express and purify proteins is the key component of this center, which will focus on human diseases and formulating proteins for preclinical tests.
