The efficiency of relocating wild northern bobwhites prior to breeding season

Article Abstract:

A pilot investigation was conducted during 1997 and 1998 to compare survival, site fidelity, and reproduction characteristics of relocated wild northern bobwhites (Colinus virginianus) with that of resident birds. The results suggested that relocating wild bobwhites does not negatively impact their survival or reproductive output. Based on the results, a large-scale relocation was implemented to determine whether relocation could increase native bobwhite populations.
