The ring of life provides evidence for a genome fusion origin of eukaryotes

Article Abstract:

The general outline of the phylogenetic tree is determined with the help of complete genome data from representative prokaryotes and eukaryotes and a new genome analysis method that makes it possible to reconstruct ancient genome fusions and phylogenetic trees is presented. The analysis indicate that the eukaryotic genome resulted from a fusion of two diverse prokyotic genomes which shows that the tree of life is actually ring of life.

WUSCHEL controls meristem function by direct regulation of cytokinin-inducible response regulators

Article Abstract:

A regulatory network that includes the CLAVATA (CLV) ligand-receptor system and the homeodomain protein WUSCHEL controls Arabidopsis thaliana, stem cell fate in the shoot apical meristem. WUSCHEL is a positive regulator of stem cells, directly represses the transcription of several two-component ARABIDOPSIS RESPONSE REGUALTOR genes, which act in the negative feedback loop of cytokinin signalling.
