The role of animal shelters

Article Abstract:

A panel discussion on the role of animal shelters is presented. The difference between humane societies and animal control agencies is discussed, and the debate over whether or not animal shelters should be involved in killing any animals is pondered. It is concluded that the underlying notion of animals as property needs to be addresses in general society.
