U.S. National Wetland Inventory classifications as predictors of the occurrence of Columbia spotted frogs (Rana luteiventris) and Pacific treefrogs (Hyla regilla)

Article Abstract:

U.S. National Wetland Inventory classifications could not be used alone to predict with confidence the presence of Columbia spotted frogs (Rana luteiventris) or Pacific treefrogs (Hyla regilla), according to results of a study conducted in the Owyhee Mountains of southwestern Idaho. The best predictions were obtained by combining habitat measures with National Wetland Inventory classifications.

Using presence-absence data to build and test spatial habitat models for the fisher in the Klamath region, U.S.A

Article Abstract:

Protecting low- to mid-elevation forests will ensure the survival of the fisher. Forests with high levels of tree canopy closure, adequate annual rainfall and mature hardwood trees are necessary components of the fisher's habitat.
