Urban currawongs

Article Abstract:

The city-dwelling population of the Pied Currawong has increased rapidly in the last 30 years. Rarely seen in urban areas before the 1970s, the Currawong has adapted to life in Eastern cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The impact of the large omnivorous bird on other bird populations is being researched.

Bird Brains

Article Abstract:

The tool-using behavior, problem-solving ability and intelligence of different species of birds are examined. The findings indicate that birds are 'bird brained' as they use their intelligence to overcome the complex and dynamic challenges of social living.

Shy albatross
