Using Decision Modeling with Stakeholders to Reduce HumanuWildlife Conflict: a RaptoruGrouse Case Study

Article Abstract:

A wildlife management workshop is evaluated as a means of bringing together conservationists with different objectives within the same region. Approaches to Red Grouse management and Hen Harrier protection in the uplands of Britain are used as an illustration; diversionary feeding holds promise for satisfying both groups of conservationists.

Dynamics of Hybridization and Introgression in Red Wolves and Coyotes

Article Abstract:

Studies show that sterilization can be a useful short-term method for reducing the possibility of extirpation in colonizing red wolf populations. Conditions necessary for successful red wolf reestablishment and long-term population maintenance are also discussed.

No inbreeding depression observed in Mexican and red wolf captive breeding programs

Article Abstract:

Inbreeding among red wolves does not appear to adversely affect juvenile viability or reduce litter size. This was the conclusion of researchers who analyzed these factors in two wolf populations that had been reintroduced to the wild.
