Whose teeth?

Article Abstract:

The fossils of a left mandibular fragment containing the last premolar, the first permanent molar and a single upper right permanent second incisor indicate the presence of early Homo at Longgupo Cave, China. The assignment of the teeth to any particular species is, however, a controversial issue. The stone tools point to the presence of the hominids. However, the morphological evidence given by the fossils indicates the presence of two different hominoids.

Whose eyes are on the hummingbird? The trials and tribulations of a nesting red-billed azurecrown

Article Abstract:

A red-billed azurecrown hummingbird, which built its nest on a hanging plant in a mansion in Antigua, Guatemala, behaved in a surprising manner. The bird twice laid her eggs in a nest that was in close proximity to humans. However, neither effort produced hummingbird chicks because the eggs were not fertilized. These failed efforts were thought to be the bird's first attempts to lay eggs.
