Zeeman splitting of surface-scattered neutrons

Article Abstract:

The indication of slight inelastic scattering processes through Zeeman splitting of surface-scattered neutrons at a grazing angle to a ferromagnetic surface may have spectroscopic applications. The ambient magnetic field caused the neutron spin states' energies to undergo Zeeman splitting, which was revealed as a slight kinetic energy variation in the reflection angle of the scattered neutrons.

Phase radiography with neutrons

Article Abstract:

A new quantitative technique which gives a new contrast mechanism for neutron radiography is discussed. The non-interferometric phase-measurement method means that low doses of radiation can be used for image sampling.

Measuring fast neutrons in Hiroshima at distances relevant to atomic bomb survivors

Article Abstract:

The authors describe the study of the role of atomic bombs in radiation-induced cancer in humans. The authors have detected (super)63 Ni produced by fast neutrons in copper samples of Hiroshima, and report the results.
