A modest proposal, relating four millennia of proverb collections to chemistry within the human brain
Article Abstract:
Too much reliance on literacy may not be a good thing at all. The earliest texts, found in ancient Egypt, were those of proverbs. These were used as a mnemonic device to recall what has been previously learned or other important data. Proverbs found in other cultures function in a similar manner. Modern western society, however, hardly utilizes the brain's capacity for recall. Neuropsychological research reveals that in Alzheimer's disease, the brain's synapses do not function because these are not used often enough. These are triggered by electrical impulses associated with recall.

Remembering rock and roll
Article Abstract:
Multi media hardware allows more capabilities in producing and presenting shows. It combines a display system with a slide projector and an Apple computer for computer generated alpanumeric and graphic displays. Images can be created and stored by computer software. This reduces costs, chance of equipment failure, lowers cost of repeat performances, and allows last minute changes in presentation.
