Response

Article Abstract:

JoAnn Conrad's views about the review on Barbara and Warren Walker's book on Turkish folklore are correct in stating that the book indulges Turkey's Ministry of Culture's efforts to present its nationalistic versions of traditional folklore. The book also presents beautiful and authentic Turkish tales. Moreover, Conrad is also correct in stating that current folklorists have succumb to political pressures with regards to the study of folklores.
