Article Abstract:
This article traces the origins of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation back to a church village settled by the Moravians in Pennsylvania, 1741. The same diversity that resulted from the eventual growth of the village is attributed to the ethnic division of labor held by the author to be responsible for the closing of the Bethlehem steel mills.
