Science & archaeology: imaging Ur's sacrificial dead
Article Abstract:
Computed Axial Tomography scans carried out on two skulls belonging to sacrificial victims from two of Ur's royal tombs helped determine the feasibility of further scientific tests and revealed how techniques of modern science can be applied to help rewrite archaeology's most famous and enduring tales.

Archaeological findings reveal the extensive interaction and trade between the peoples of distant lands stretching from Mesopotamia to Central Asia during the 3rd millennium BC. A discussion on the various archaeological investigations of this "Middle Asian Interaction Sphere" is presented.

Hanging in the balance

A study has been conducted on the accuracy of the ancient weights and weighing. It was concluded that the understanding of fractions, mathematics and weighing was very sophisticated during the Mesopotamian age and those ancient people had a tremendous amount of accuracy regarding weights.
