To farm, or not to farm
Article Abstract:
Excavations in the southwestern US indicate that the adoption of agriculture and settled village life took place as early as 1000 B.C. Archaeologists have believed hunter-gatherer bands cultivated maize and other crops before becoming village dwellers. Excavations and discoveries in other regions reveal his transition varied from place to place.

The excavations at Hierakonpolis, which means "of the hawk", reveals that the rise of Egypt, was not the result of the King Narmer's victory. However, the role of Narmer's city in the development of Egyptian civilization is identified.
