Menus
Article Abstract:
Many restaurant owners use a graphic designer to produce their menus. According to a book by Hanspeter Schmidt, Menu Design, the appearance of a menu may say more about the restaurant owner and the expense of the meal than the quality of the cooking. It may also be the case that if the restaurant owner has spent too much time or resources designing the menu, he has paid too little attention to the food.

Article Abstract:
'Design for response' is a new approach to market research, which is based on trial and error. Many claim that conventional market research is a useless expense and favour launching a product onto the market quickly and being prepared to withdraw it instantly if it fails to sell. Hearst publishing of the US is using this method and other successful examples of the method is the Sony Walkman.
