Never say die. (industrial designer Emilio Ambasz)
Article Abstract:
Industrial designer and creator of the Vertebra chair, Emilio Ambasz, gives the name 'soft-tech' to his latest work which puts miniature electronic machines inside soft leather pouches. The machine's infrastructure is attached to a flexible polymer membrane rather than encased in plastic. Ambasz, a major player in international product design, is interested in creating lasting and flexible designs which will have their own identity. His architectural design ideas harmonising nature and technology are being used in Japan where Fukuoka Prefecture International Hall is covered by 15 terraced landscape gardens.
