Lori Weitzner, 31-year-old textile designer, currently licences her designs to a variety of products, including museum gift shops, and Estee Lauder. She is also involved in Rodolph, an all-woman, US-based textile design firm. Recent activities include: teaching at Parsons School of Design, and also at The Manhattan Center for Living; and designing for Creation Baumann and Heberlein Textildruck, both Switzerland. Details of Weitzner's career to date are included.

Furniture for our future selves
Article Abstract:
The exibition, 'Furniture for our future selves,' was shown at the Royal College of Art on Nov 24, 1993. It exhibited furniture designed for elderly people, combining functionality with style. Elderly people represent an increasing proportion of the population, and have the greatest spending power of all age groups. Speakers at the exhibition included Francis Kinsman, Ronald Welch, Gabrielle Rankin and Ron Carter.

Features include: A5 footprint, smokey grey case, voice processing facility, seven-inch diagonal LCD, MS-Dos operating system, Personal Accessories software, and rechargeable NiCad battery; however, its practicality is questioned.
