Crystal palace
Article Abstract:
Designer David Goldberg's latest wallcover design reflects his preference for the distinctive characteristic of hand-crafted products which machines fail to duplicate. The wallcovering consists of polished spheres of imported glass which are done in aharmonious combination of three patterns. The glass beads allow light to play on the surface of the material, giving it a frostlike quality. The application of a durable washable adhesive for the glass spheres was a critical aspect of the design.

Breaking new ground
Article Abstract:
The fabric designs of Japanese textile manufacturer Nuno are influenced by merging technologies rather than market trends. The company's latest textile collection, called Stainless, was developed by tinting polyester taffeta then coating with decomposed chrome, iron and nickel, after which the textile material is embossed or pleated. The process produces a metallic fabric. The company has been known as a pioneer in the field of textile design by exploiting new technologies.
