Article Abstract:

Design Miami, a modern and contemporary furniture fair, promotes the notion of design as art, with the fair's organizers including lesser-known 20th century designers and non-European work in the mix. A host of satellite shows were held throughout the neighborhood and "Design Talks" featuring luminaries were conducted giving people an opportunity to people to not only buy furniture, but also meet each other and exchange ideas.

An exhibition titled "Martine Bedin, Citta" would be held from February 14-May 27, 2007, at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs, Paris, France. The exhibits would include designer Bedin's collection of vases in Carrara marble, ceramic and silver plate, inspired by the cities and architecture of the Mediterranean.

An exhibition titled "Modernism in American Silver: 20th Century Design" is scheduled to be held from March 25, 2007 at Wolfsonian-FIU, Miami Beach. The exhibits would include more than 200 American silver products from 1925 to 2000 by designers such as Ellel Saarinen, Tommi Parzinger and Elsa Peretti.
