Oregon time capsule Paul Laszlo

Article Abstract:

Paul Laszlo, an architect designed the Hudspeth house in Prineville, Oregon owned by John M. and Floreine A. Hudspeth, which were previously designed by Morton Caine, of Portland. Paul made some structural alterations, including inserting a red leather and ebony wall in the living room, and pulled the rambling 12,000-square-foot interior together with a coordinated ensemble of custom-designed furniture, lamps and other objects, unifying some rooms with powerful colors.

Samuel Marx's May house: A modernist landmark bites

Article Abstract:

The May house was one o the finest modern building, designed by the Chicago architect Samuel A. Marx (1885-1964). In t. Louis, as in all too many other places, no one wants to make building that make waves, a loss of St. Louis contradicts the city's proud history of as an architectural innovator.

Mountain Marvel: Charles Deaton's Sculptured House

Article Abstract:

The Sculptured House by Charles Deaton, built in 1965, is perched high in the Rocky Mountains. As a result of the faltering architecture practice, Deaton was forced to put the Sculptured House up for the sale to Larry Polhill.
