Centennial challenges: It's not about the money (...but it helps)

NASA is offering a total of $350,000 to innovators capable of powering a contraption with beamed energy or pulling oxygen from fake Moon dirt. NASA wants university researchers, study teams, hobbyists, etc. to participate in the Centennial Challenges contests to be held over the next five years for which it has set aside $80 million as prize money, with the hope that fresh ideas and technologies will be invented.

The James Webb Space Telescope: Over budget but on track
Article Abstract:
The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) would have to reduce its capabilities at the short wavelength end of its observatory range so that it could help offset a billion dollars in projected budget overruns. NASA has rescheduled the launch of JWST for June 2013 at the earliest as some of the engineering details are yet to be worked out.
