Commander Eugene Cernan and Lunar Module Pilot Harrison Schmitt of Apollo 17 were honored during a gala dinner commemorating the 25th anniversary of the last manned mission to the Moon. The event, which was held in Washington on December 10, 1997, was hosted by the National Space Society.
