Telephone technology's digital dilemma

Article Abstract:

The demand for telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc. will soon exceed the capacity of telecommunication switching systems as more and more people continue to use more and more communication channels. The traditional geographical hierarchy for numbers will not accommodate the entire world.
