The IMSA, on Oct 2, 1993, held its last Grand Touring Prototypes (GTP) race and began planning for a new category of racing to be called World Sports Cars. The controversial decision came about primarily because of the expense involved in GTP racing.

25 years old, Formula Ford could be called Formula Forever
