What's new in the collection department of the 90s?

Article Abstract:

Technological advances in electronic office equipment have refined information processing, increasing office efficiency and assisting collection department management. Developments in computer-integrated telephony have enabled digital telephone systems to interface with mainframe computers allowing information to be transmitted without human participation. The advances include automatic number identification, which automatically communicates the telephone numbers of callers; intelligent services digital networks that link telephone systems and computers; and predictive-power-dialing computers that call many accounts an hour, connecting only live voices with a collector.
