Distribution of Pseudomonas syringae pathovars into twenty-three O serogroups
Article Abstract:
Three hundred fifty five strains of Pseudomonas syringae, comprising 15 pathovars, are categorized into 23 O serogroups. These are identifiable via double-diffusion reactions of the soluble lipopolysaccharides (LPSs) and O serogroups of P. syringae and viridiflava. The serogroups are identified on the basis of the reaction of the type strains. Twelve serogroups belonging to two families have antigenic cross-reactivity, 10 have a specific reactivity and one serogroup has side-chain deficient LPSs. Some pathovars are homogenous while others are heterogeneous.

Specific bacterial suppressors of MAMP signaling upstream of MAPKKK in Arabidopsis innate immunity
Article Abstract:
A cell-based genetic screen of virulence factors helped to identify AvrPto and AvrPtoB as potent and unique suppressors of early defense screen gene transcription and MAP kinase signaling. The studies revealed a fundamental role of microbe-associated molecular pattern (MAMP) signaling in nonhost immunity, and a novel action of type III effectors from pathogenic bacteria.
