Drosophila PAR-1 and 14-3-3 inhibit bazooka/PAR-3 to establish complementary cortical domains in polarized cells

Article Abstract:

Research demonstrates a direct regulatory interaction between Drosophila PAR-1 kinase and BAZ, which is mediated by 14-3-3 protein. Results indicate that PAR-1 phosphorylates Bazooka/PAR-3 to generate 14-3-3 binding sites. Data suggest that PAR-1/14-3-3 antagonism of Bazooka may the path by which complementary cortical domains are established in polarized cells.

Control of dendritic branching and tiling by the tricornered-kinase/furry signaling pathway in drosophila sensory neurons

Article Abstract:

Neurons of certain functional groups are known to exhibit tiling of their dendrites. Tricornered (Trc) and kinase and furry (fry) signaling pathway play an important role in patterning dendritic fields.

Drosophila Dpp morphogen movement is independent of dynamin-mediated endocytosis but regulated by the clypican members of heparan sulfate proteoglycans

Article Abstract:

Decapentaplegic (Dpp) is found to be extracellular. A model in which Dpp moves along the cell surface by restricted extracellular diffusion is developed.
