Effects of specific inhibitors on anammox and denitrification in marine sediments

Article Abstract:

The inhibitory effects of acetylene, methanol and allyithiourea (ATU) on anammox and denitrification activities in marine sediments re examined. No marked effects on the rates of anammox and denitrification were found in ATU.

Research has been conducted on the sulfate-reducing consortium degrading 2-methylnaphthalene. The degradation of this compound inhibited in the molybdate presence and ceased in the sulfate absence has been investigated.
