The likely fate of hybrids of Bactrocera tryoni and Bactrocera neohumeralis

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on sympatric species Bactrocera tryoni and B. neohumeralis which remain distinct in the field but hybridize in the laboratoty. The authors have investigated the mating time inheritance in backcrossed hybrid stocks in the effort to establish whether mating with other species is possible, and discuss the results.
