Leukocyte arylsulfatase A activity in patients with alcohol-related cirrhosis

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the possible dimineshment of arylsulfatase (ASA) in subjects with alcohol-related cirrhosis having encephalopathic manifestations. Results revealed that subjects with alcohol cirrhosis and encephalopathy showed less enzymatic activity than a control group, and subjects without encephalopathy showed an ASA value less than the control group.

In memoriam: Johanna Faulhaber Kamman, 1911-2000

MGEA5-14 polymorphism and type 2 diabetes in Mexico city

Article Abstract:

The distribution of gene MGEA5 SNP in a sample of Type 2 Diabetes patients is evaluated. This analysis of the parental samples provides the information regarding the distribution of the MGEA5-14 polymorphism and its potential impact on diabetes risk.
