Mycobacteria and fungi in moisture-damaged building materials

Article Abstract:

The possible role of mycobacteria in exposure to organisms in moisture-damaged buildings was evaluated to study the concentrations and diversity of mycobacteria in different types of building materials. It was suggested that the organisms contributed to the adverse health effects associated with moisture-damaged buildings.

Survival of Mycobacterium avium in drinking water biofilms, as affected by water flow velocity, availability of phosphorus, and temperature

Article Abstract:

Effects of phosphorus, temperature, and flow rate on the survival of mycobacterium avium in drinking water biofilms are studied. Results conclude that survival of mycobacterium avium was influenced by temperature and not by the concentration of phosphorus.
