Pathogenicity of Moraxella osloensis, a bacterium associated with the nematode Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita, to the slug Deroceras reticulatum
Article Abstract:
Researchers show that the bacterium Moraxella osloensis is the sole killing agent of the grey garden slug Deroceras reticulatum. The bacterium is usually delivered to the slug by the nematode Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita, but the bacterium alone can kill the slug if injected into it. Further research may identify the bacterial toxin.

Detection of the bacteriocin propionicin PLG-1 with polyvalent anti-PLG-1 antiserum
Article Abstract:
Researchers developed an immunoassay for propionicin PLG-1, a bacteriocin from Propionibacterium thoenii P127. This bacteriocin is effective against lactic acid bacteria and other dairy propionibacteria.
