RegB/RegA, a highly conserved redox-responding global two-component regulatory system

Article Abstract:

RegB and RgA constitute a highly conserved global regulatory system that provides an overlying layer of redox control on a variety of energy-generating and energy-utilizing biological processes. Genetic and biochemical analyses have revealed that the RegB/RegA system is a major global regulator of numerous energy-generating and energy-utilizing cellular processes.

Epigenetic gene regulation in the bacterial world

Article Abstract:

The role of widespread epigenetic control in the bacterial world and the roles that epigenetic regulatory systems play in bacterial biology, including pathogenesis are studied. An introduction to epignetic regulatory control is presented, focusing on the primary features and unique aspects of the epigenetic control systems that are being investigated.

Signaling by target of rapamycin proteins in cell growth control

Article Abstract:

Target of rapamycin (TOR) proteins are members of the phosphatidylinositol kinase-related kinase family and are highly conserved from yeast to mammals. The current understanding of the regulation of TOR signaling is reviewed and its functions as a signaling nexus to control cell growth during normal development and tumorigenesis is discussed.
