Regulatory divergence modifies limb length between mammals

Article Abstract:

The variation within populations caused by the differences in DNA sequences regulating gene expression is examined. Findings reveal that mutations accumulated in pre-existing noncoding regulatory sequences within a population are responsible for variation in the evolution of morphological differences between species.

Ovca1 regulates cell proliferation, embryonic development, and tumorigenesis

Article Abstract:

Ovarian cancer 1 (Ovca1) is a tumor suppresser that acts as a positive regulator for cell cycle progression. Evolution of ovarian, breast and other tumor phenotypes attributed to the coordinated loss of OVCA1 and p53 on the human Chromosome 17.
