Temperature-responsive genetic loci in the plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae pv. glycinea

Article Abstract:

Temperature-responsive genetic loci have been studied in the plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae pv. glycinea, a bacterial blight pathogen of soybean plants. Plant-pathogenic bacteria may sense variations in environmental factors to adapt to plant-associated habitats during pathogenesis or epiphytic growth. Plant inoculations showed that three mutants tests were inhibited in symptom development and in planta multiplication rates. The study suggested that all identified loci showed a somewhat slow induction of expression under temperature-change conditions.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa mutations in lasl and rhll quorum sensing systems result in milder chronic lung infection

Article Abstract:

Pseudomonas aeruginosa mutations in rhll and lasl quorum sensing systems bring milder chronic lung infection. In vivo pathogenic effects of the wild-type P. aeruginosa PAO1 and its double mutation, PAO1 lasl rhll, in which the signal-generating parts of the quorum sensing systems are defective, have been compared. The goal was to find out about importance of quorum sensing in chronic P. aeruginosa lung infection.
