The cellular roles of the lissencephaly gene LIS1 and what they tell us about brain development
Article Abstract:
Studies related to lissencephaly gene LIS1 and doublecortin RNAi have revealed that reduced expression in either of these genes causes formation of neural progenitors in the subventricular zone. Some of the evidence regarding the cellular defects contributing to classical lissencephaly is presented with emphasis on recent live analysis of LIS1-deficient neutral progenitor cell motility in brain tissue.

A three 'helix homo-oligomerization domain containing BH3 and BH1 is responsible for the apoptotic activity of Bax
Article Abstract:
The article describes the identification of a three-helix unit, comprising the BH3 (helix 2) and BH1 domains (helix 4 and helix5), as the homo-oligomerization domain of Bax. After series of analysis result suggests that active Bax causes mitochondrial damage through homo- oligomers of a three-helix functional unit.
